The expedition rhythm
Preparation earns distance
Health does not return simply because danger has passed. Every wound follows you until food, another player or a town healer deals with it. The farther you travel, the more your supplies and judgement matter.
Pack a Survival Kit
One practical kit carries the tools needed to fish, hunt and establish a campfire. It turns suitable wilderness into an opportunity.
Read the terrain
Water offers fish. Tracks and open ground offer game. Safe clearings offer a place to cook before the next dangerous tile.
Prepare what you gather
Raw catches become useful food through fire and attention. Prepared meals restore half of your missing health without ever filling the final gap.
Return to people
A healer can restore you completely. Town kitchens and noticeboards turn food into trade, reputation and help for a settlement under pressure.
Fishing
At ordinary or deeper water, use the Survival Kit and watch the line. A timed catch rewards patience and a clean response. The result is a real fish to carry, cook, trade or contribute to a town request.
Good fishing places become remembered parts of the map — useful knowledge to share, protect or keep quiet.
Hunting
Game is taken with a steady, stationary reticle rather than a chase across the interface. Wait for the right moment and place the shot. A poor attempt wastes time and may cost the opportunity.
A fire-aligned shot can cook the animal where it falls. Too much fire destroys the meat completely.
Healing without chores
Survival supports adventure without becoming a hunger meter. Food does not spoil, grant stacks of temporary bonuses or demand constant eating. It matters because injuries matter.
| Recovery | Result | Place in the journey |
|---|---|---|
| Prepared food | Restores half of the health currently missing, but never reaches full health. | Keeps an expedition moving after moderate danger. |
| Help from others | Guild abilities and companions can stabilise a bad situation. | Makes nearby travellers and group preparation meaningful. |
| Town healer | Restores a character completely. | Creates a dependable homeward rhythm and gives towns lasting value. |
The campfire is a small safe moment
A fire turns the day’s work into tomorrow’s supplies. It is a pause inside the journey rather than a separate crafting game: gather what the land offers, prepare it, divide it among companions and move on.
Cook
Turn fish and game into dependable healing food.
Plan
Check injuries, equipment and the road that remains.
Share
Trade supplies, answer aid requests and decide who needs the next meal most.
Towns remember practical help. A settlement may ask for an exact catch or hunting quota. Filling it feeds people, strengthens trade and turns fieldcraft into a visible contribution.
